Never a Dull Moment...

Carter is always keeping us entertained! And busy too! If he gets up while I'm in the shower in the mornings, he takes it upon himself to fix his "cerdal" aka cereal.

Justin's Big Night

Justin's company, Southern Masonry Construction, won an award for the masonry on Joint Fire & Police Station aka Public Safety Precinct Station One in downtown Huntsville. The project Superintendent was Robert Perez who has been with the company for 30 years. The General Contractor was Pearce Construction from Huntsville. Justin was super excited to get a new suit and go accept the award at the Von Braun Center with Robert and Hannah. Here he is all dressed up ready to go. Sharp dressed man!

I didn't really care to go. It's not really my type of thing. But we posed for a picture anyway. So proud of my hubby!

This is the award he got. Carter wanted to pose with Daddy.

Carter is a New Kid Today

Today Carter had tubes put in his ears. He is like a new kid! It was a little rough before the surgery seeing as he didn't want to be naked in a cold room with nothing but a tiger hospital gown on, but it all got better once Mr. Bear could wear his clothes. That was Mimi's idea to settle him down. He started laughing and was a happy camper from then on! Carter was able to take Mr. Bear (excuse me, Dr. Bear) with him to the surgery. They rode off on a choo choo train (hospital bed) to the surgery. He was so excited to go! And Dr. Bear got to wear a surgeon hat and mask. The nurses were great! They made it a fun experience for him. He is at home now, and is doing great! No complaints. No naps, still no complaints. What a trooper!

The girls from the office got him a Zebra, or "Marty" as he likes to call all zebras, for a get well gift. It is absolutely adorable! He loved it! I know it doesn't look like it in this picture, but he does. I promise! He just hates the camera! Thanks girls!

The Nightmare Cruise (most of it anyway)

We went on a company cruise for SMC from Miami to San Juan, St. Thomas and St. Marteen in late January. Starting off, we had to get up and be at the airport at 4:30 which was not a good idea with a two year old. He was not very happy needless to say. However, he did enjoy the flight and the ice cream he had for breakfast. Hey, whatever keeps him quiet, right? Then he conked out on the next flight. Could have been the Dramamine I gave him?!

The first morning of the cruise we spent in the Infirmary down on the bottom floor of the ship. Carter had 2 ear infections, an eye infection and an upper respiratory infection. Not good! The doctor was foreign and didn't speak a word of English. He googled his symptons to get meds. Scary! Luckily everything he gave us was something Carter had had before so it turned out okay. Except for the bad attitude reaction he had to Amoxicillan!

Here is Carter all dressed up for dinner the first night. He did so great at dinner. For some reason it was the only time he behaved. It was a little disturbing to the others at our table that he filled his water glass with french fries and chicken nuggets and then proceeded to eat them after soaking for a few minutes. But, again, whatever keeps him happy and quiet!

Our first stop was to San Juan, Puerto Rico. I would love to post a picture but we didn't see it. We got off the ship for like 15 minutes and that was it. It started to rain and we just didn't think we should get a sick baby out in the rain in a dirty city (from what we saw of it). Pointless really! So we went back and had dinner on the ship and rented a movie in our room. Fun times!

Our second stop was St. Thomas. I don't care to ever go back there again. I thought it was very dumpy and crowded. The only thing that was nice was the view from the mountain. But up close, very dirty! We took an open-cab ride up the mountain and nearly died cause the driver was going atleast 55mph in a 25mph zone around tight, tight curves with big buses coming at us. Lovely, really! But Mom and Dad insist I go to St. John. Maybe one day after I visit absolutely every other place I've ever wanted to see! HA!

Our last stop was to St. Marteen which we saw the port for about 30 minutes. Nothing more! Carter had all he could stand and insisted we go swimming. So swimming we went! We spend the day in St. Marteen on the Lido deck swimming and get a not so much tan! This is the port below.

The picture below says it all!! Carter did not have fun on this trip! He is probably scarred for life and will never set sail on another ship as long as he lives! I can't say that I'm not scarred as well!

Carter's Carnival 2nd Birthday

We did a Carnival themed party for Carter's 2nd Birthday. He had so much fun! We rented a moon bounce and set up a carnival tent and kids tables. We did a cake (amazing!), popcorn maker, hot dogs and cotton candy of course to keep with the carnival theme. All of his friends and family were able to come and celebrate his Birthday with him!

Here are some of the pictures from the party.

Pinata and the tables. Before the party of course!

His cake from Peggy Ann Bakery.

Delicious! He got SO embarassed when we sang to him!

Tablescape. Call me Sandra Lee please...

This is the moon bounce. The kids had a blast on it! Best idea ever!

Carter and his Uncle Michael. I think Michel may have enjoyed it most!

Kids table and the adult table.

Ummm...good! Napkin anyone?

Carter and Daddy busted the pinata at the end of the party for everyone to take candy home. As if they didn't already have enough sugar. You're welcome parents!
